Yup.

I watched the whole show today and I will say he is a very good talker. He had plenty of time to memorize his script and he followed it very well. When the going got a little tough he answered in the same way every time.

The only time he actually stumbled was when Ted Cruz asked him if facebook had a bias. He said no but when asked why they had suspended several conservative sites and labeled them as UNSAFE for the community. That one chocked him up and a break was called and he looked very happy to get away from Cruz as everyone in the crowd was laughing.

Quote
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told Zuckerberg that "a great many Americans" are "deeply concerned that Facebook and other tech companies are engaged in a pervasive pattern of bias and political censorship." Cruz then ticked off a list of conservative content that he claimed had been "suppressed" by Facebook, "including stories about [2012 GOP presidential candidate] Mitt Romney [and] stories about the Lois Lerner IRS scandal."

"In addition to that, Facebook has initially shut down the Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day page ... has blocked over two dozen Catholic pages, and most recently blocked Trump supporters Diamond and Silk’s page – with 1.2 million Facebook followers -- after determining their content and brand were 'unsafe to the community.'

I had a Facebook page for years and only went on it once in a while. Now I'm in slotcar groups and go on it twice a day and I enjoy it. I couldn't care less if they have information on my interests.

So. 99% of the internet is guilty of that at some level.

And then they sold all that info to Cambridge Analytics...guess that's a bias.................for money. Wait. They are in business for some reason......oh,yeah, to make money.

Any surprises yet? No. Ok, I am slightly surprised that they did not sell the data to both campaigns at the same time......but I guess that might have something to do with political bias........or money.....or both.

So the real tell on Facebook is it's free to use. One needs to remember that even if it’s free, you can always buy it cheaper.

I have no problem with facebooks business model. Free enterprise and capitalistic. It's the American way to make money. And the advertisers are paying for it.

And what ever Cambridge Analytical and the Russians did is much ado about nothing. In my opinion. Awhile back Zuckerberg has stated that he wants Facebook to also be a news organization ?????

The captioned picture has to do with irony.

Assange has a site called wikileaks. Awhile back he exposed politicians and corporations that hide money in offshore accounts. He was also the one who exposed the Podesta emails about what Hillary and the DNC were doing.

Apparently Congress has a problem with free enterprise and capitalism, but more probable they have a problem with their own dirty laundry coming to light and also a problem with their not getting their cut of the action.

I don't know enough to formulate an opinion. But there's enough stink to make the menhaden trawler anchored off Denmark for the past year to smell pretty good.

Awhile back Zuckerberg has stated that he wants Facebook to also be a news organization ?????

Everything wants to be making money - they make money being a fake news organization. I bet he'll find out it's harder to be a not fake news organization.

Yes, I knew this. I think the old what's good for the goose should be applied but we seem to concerned only with how it affects us.
Oh. Yeah. This is 2018 and that is the important thing.
Maybe the difference is how they got their info and how they use it. :? :?

Silly thing is that everyone is acting as if they never knew that their info and activities on the internet was not being tracked, recorded, targeted adverts being used, and demographics recorded by advertising companies for many years.

Everyone should start out with the assumption that their info and activities on the internet was not being tracked, recorded, targeted.

The irony of it all is that for the 2012 elections, facebook gave everything they had on everybody to the DNC. Then Cambridge Analytic reverses the facebook membership and sells it to the RNC, and suddenly there's been a crime committed. Go figure!
