No infections, only the forum if they can register to become a member. They will flood the forum with spam. If they were able to get on you will know what they are doing by how they post.

Not if you wash up thoroughly after using your keyboard.

This is why on the one forum that I moderate all new registrants have to apply through me directly; the auto-registration is disabled and I register them manually. Totally stopped spammers and bots from registering.

Well, if traffic is high, then that's work. But, a lot of sites now include a manual step that requires a person involved to access joining or other information.
