Why would somebody pay $69million for a piece of art (by Beeple) that doesn't exist in the real world, which means, the work is not something we can walk up to, on a wall, nor touch it or pick it up .

Seeing this reported on the News this morning totally amazed me, since it was something of which I had been totally unaware .

I can, of course, understand why people would indulge in digital artwork, for self-expression and sharing, but paying for an intangible , presenting itself as art, puzzles me.

Hence, I present my puzzlement here, where a plethora of interesting voices , experiences , and backgrounds often promises an interesting conversation, with results.

I wonder if the can print tee shirts from it or greeting cards, posters and coffee table books? The sale of this art work made me go to their web page. I can't be the only one.

As an exemplification, look at Wayne's avatar picture and look at mine. We both have hats on. Are the hats the same , or even similar ? No? Are the messages spoken thru those avatars similar? No. Why? They speak of two very different people. Yet....(?)
