How about: This is going to get even more sad and even more stupid before its over, and more people will needlessly die as a result.

How about we do the right things, and get this disease under control as fast as possible? Even Don of the Dead is wearing a face mask, now.

It's going to take more than you & me -- how about the rest of the country? Seems they have no leadership or interest in survival

Honestly, the best thing that could happen is for the WH to be a raging hot spot. It seems the only way that diseases get any real support from any WH or from the Congress is when they get stricken by it -- then we see real action.

Not that it maters but I have been experiencing a lot of problems getting on the forum. Might nave something to do with my ISP. I can get on everywhere else without any problems.

It appears to me this last week that the American people are just into doing what they damn well please.

Whats going to happen as the money runs out and the people become desperate. Total chaos and anarchy ??

Well, while he is a major part of the problem per se, it goes much, much deeper than his personal idiosyncrasies. All of the "adults" have left the cabinet. The people surrounding him are either afraid or too stupid to speak up. I have no idea why they are "afraid". Afraid of a Twitter tirade? Afraid of being fired? He has fired so many people it should be viewed as a badge of honor. The people that should be afraid are the ones hanging around. The sh*t is about to hit the fan and no one is going to be terribly forgiving for those that stood by and watched this happen. This is what happens when you put an alleged businessman in charge. A "businessman" who has no idea about manufacturing, logistics, gantt/pert charts, material pipelines, etc. A "businessman" that only listens to what he wants to hear instead of what he needs know. He has failed up his whole life and has been surrounded by "friends" and family that enabled/encouraged him to do so.

BOT

The time wasted between March and now should have been spent ramping up PPE and getting a handle on adequate testing protocols instead of ignoring facts and rushing to "open up". We now have more people sick and they are spread over a much wider area. The time window to correct this is rapidly closing. It may already be too late.

It was too late back in the middle of January when people were flying in to NYC from China by the thousands and China and (WHO) was keeping it quiet.

Yes, my intent was for the "even more" to come through in my message, but again, a few words or letters left off and the meaning changes. It has been sad for months, but it's going to get very sad, scary and ugly going forward, as mentioned in posts above.

Is too much hope being put into a coronavirus vaccine?
Mike BebernesEditor
,Yahoo News 360•July 13, 2020

What’s happening

It’s a commonly accepted truth that the only way the coronavirus pandemic will come to an end is through the development of an effective vaccine. The effort to accomplish that goal has been underway for months in countries around the world, at a scale and speed that have never been seen before.

There are currently more than 100 potential vaccines in some stage of development, some of which have advanced to human trials. The Trump administration launched “Operation Warp Speed” in May with the goal of having millions of doses available by the end of the year. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, recently said he was “cautiously optimistic” a vaccine could be ready by early 2021.

Experts say the virus will continue to spread until about 70 percent of the population has developed immunity. A vaccine is the quickest and safest way to establish what’s known as “herd immunity.” The other path — waiting until enough people have been infected — could lead to millions of deaths, epidemiologists say.

Actually, it was pretty obvious that something very bad was happening in China by the last week of Jan. and we never actually stopped anyone from flying in yet.

Maybe we'll get lucky and something will be successful and generally available late this year, but I'm not betting on either happening given everything so far.

I suspect, concluding from several recent News reports, that the Winter ahead , 2020-2021, is going to be very difficult , especially if areas prone to getting plenty of snow and cold during Winter, get hit hard with bad weather.

Trump Tried to stop the flights from China but the only cooperation he got from the idiot democrats was he was a racist and a bigot and they were too busy busy with the impeachment.

And that idiot democrat mayor in NYC was telling people to go out and have fun. Go to the parade and Broadway shows. And the idiots did what he told them to do.

I can't wait to see how NYC turns out when they defund and dismantle the police.
