Pelosi orders removal
Re: Pelosi orders removal
The people peacefully demonstrating against police abuse are not the same people who are looting. You've got that wrong. Martin Luther King wasn't stealing suits from wrecked stores in the 1960s.
If you want to worry about violent behavior by sociopaths, I'd worry more about the racists who tracked down and shot the jogger in Georgia, and the lunatics who are threatening the lives of public health officials over mask requirements. These are the crazies who truly undermine civilization, not the poor misguided people stealing stuff from stores. One type of violence is inimical to a civilized world and is spread by deluded people like our President, and the other stuff is relatively speaking petty crime, albeit terrible for the store owners.

Do you believe arson is a petty crime? How about shooting at firemen fighting fires during a protest?
That father and son team should be jailed for life. We have have a lot problems in this country. Arson and looting will solve none of them. It will only fuel that father and son team .

Yes, and there are too many people that want to use those few to characterize the many.

Of course not. These have been relatively rare events so far, compared with the 1960s, when the government and police had declared war on anti-war protestors and civil rights activists. No one in their right mind would defend arson or shooting first. The problem in the 1960s was the police and national guard always shot first. With intent to kill.

A fair point.

I guess is going to take a concerted effort by the "many" if/when they have had enough to stop this BS. But, due to the racial aspect, I believe "all" are afraid to speak out and be label a bigot or a far right zealot. Hard to believe it's been tolerated this long, but "political correctness" is taking it's toll.
That Neil, is a similarity to the Nazi take over, the good people in Germany became afraid of the reprisals for speaking out.

Would it be practical and helpful to discuss what we all have in-common.
The Dalai Lama has advised that is what we need to do in the USA .

You might note that I did not apply a left or right to my statement. It applies encompasses all directions. There are crazies at both ends of the spectrum and part of the problem is that too many are unwilling to accept that possibility and place the blame only on their counterparts.

That might work until the finger pointing starts,
The Dalai Lama has advised that is what we need to do in the USA .
While with good intentions, I suspect that all too many will reject that advice solely on the origin not being from a US figure and also from a non-Christian religious leader. Sad, but probable given the petty small or closed mindedness of our citizens.

Public health officials have to keep the frenzy going as long as possible at all cost, so they lie, that's why people are upset with the liars.

Re: Pelosi orders removal
Yesterday they made an attempt to remove the statue of Andrew Jackson. He was the 7th president and founder of the democratic party. He was also and Indian fighter and responsible for the death and enslavement of native Americans.
Too bad the didn't get the job done. It needs to go. And then on to the next statues that need to go. The Buffalo Soldiers.
They also fought in the Indian wars in the west. Freed slave that in turn fought and killed other minority's.

Re: Pelosi orders removal
Maybe we should do away with statues altogether as memorials outside cemeteries and museums? Graven images. Bad. Focus on the present and future and stop yearning for the unreachable past, with all its complexities? Rename all streets and cities for composers, poets and rock stars. Baseball players who hit over .250 or won at least 50% of the games pitched? Or perhaps MTH employees?

I know this is total nonsense. Public health officials have said some things we know to be untrue, but they had the best intentions to protect health care workers. Stupid, but not intended to harm. Public health officials wish this would all go away so they can go back to anonymity. People don't go into public health because they like excitement, believe me
