Hobo Jungle
I had a fine conversation with RRRocky this morning. He is an intelligent, multi-dimensional guy with a huge heart who is dealing with quite a challenge. I had a similar one ten years ago, and the parallels are more than coincidence. I think we were all meant to be here for each other. He is getting clarity about it and looking at all sides of the issues much earlier than I did in the same situation.
That's not to say that he dumped on me about problems. He didn't. We also talked about surfboard blanks, board shaping, 1965 Gorden and Smiths, old houses that need maintenance, creationism versus science, New York City expositions, travel to the middle east, and your children that raid your storage locker. Oddly enough, we didn't get around to trains or our little models of them.
Despite our virtual drunken state in here, my person to person transactions with you hobos have revealed individuals who are deep thinkers, emotionally well developed, resilient to disasters, generous, artistic, and fair minded. As Bonnie Raitt would say, "road tested".

HAS to be autobiographical.
Hope this "dealing with quite a challenge" doesn't mean something bad's going on with Rocky's mom.
Rocky's been with the Jungle as long as I have, since the year 2000. His posts have been consistently among the most intelligent, challenging, reasoned, and hilarious. I hope he sticks around.
Whatever's up, RR, we're with you.

Ooh-la-la!
(That's french for "Holy Shit!")
(I learned it from Tramp, who once had a French girlfriend, with all the usual piliferous habilitry, or so he said.)
(Unlike his current squeeze, who takes the opposite tack)
That's quite a hooker, Jon. I mean, 'LOOKER'!
Hope your hostler has his head in the firebox with a torch and some scrap wood.

I hit 25 years at this hospital last August 25th.
Just yesterday I got a Service Award certificate with a fancy border and some nice Old-English font writing and a glue-on sticker, and signed by the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating officer.
How 'bout it.
And a check for $100.
That's $62.65 after taxes.
I can certainly understand, making only $400,000 each, that they could only spare so much. After all, they have families to feed!

Thank you all and thank you Tramp for a deal I'll never see again!! After a lube job and a traction tire change it was time to hi-ball!!! What a mournful horn for such a glorious day!!! This beast was born to pull!!! It tracks perfectly through my 72 dia curves, the only casualty was a light pole.
OK, big window time, but hell, she deserves it.
