Back end of a locomotive firebox/boiler. Large hole is the firebox door where the firebox doors will be installed and the small holes are where the stay bolts will be installed.
Assembled unit (doors and stay bolts installed) mated to boiler.

It helps when you get a chance to see the real thing. They were building a new boiler for something at steam town and we saw the main boiler and firebox assembly in the back shop behind the round house.

My original take was it was an extreme closeup of some kind of musical instrument.
Since I have 27" 5K display I could easily zoom in and see patterns that indicated these were cylindrical objects on their side that were lined up in straight patterns BUT they had "bumps" on the "top" near the middle (all of this from the shadows). Could be a storage yard or manufacturing plant for propane tanks like the whole house units found in rural areas OR maybe "tank cars" in a yard. I started looking for images from WW-2 German synthetic fuel plants because of a MHC show on the air attacks to destroy these plants had before and after images of the bombings and these were often accompanied by large fright yards with cars of source materials or processed fuel. German tank cars were much smaller so I switched to looking for domestic ones and the source image popped up on the first page.

Could be, but which one? It looks to me like the air dams (or whatever they're called) are angled less steeply on top, than on Chuck's NKP Berk.
