I think it is total BS. Ask a stupid person a question and you'll get a stupid answer. Of course it depends on how you take your poll, ask the question and spin the answers. Maybe these people want to leave, not because of the administration, but because the rest of the world is moving here and changing our country. If any of those people had/have ever experienced life outside this country, they wouldn't make a statement like that IMHO and if they have and still want to go....good riddance....they're part of the apathetic problem in our country.

I've been out of the country many times and could never wait to come home. Best part of the trip was getting back on the aircraft to fly to the good old USA and the best feeling was when the aircraft lifted off for home. Of course these feelings were more strongly felt for business trips to Haiti, Venezuela, Trinidad, South Africa and Brazil, but even Europe didn't appeal to me much. I'm a homebody.

I think if the Brits had a workable solution for the Ireland-Northern Ireland border, they'd just crash out. Either way, they're most likely in for a decade of tough transition, but in the long-haul it would be worth it to get out from under the thumbs of a bunch of Belgian bureaucrats.

Scotland has the misguided notion they could do fine on their own...they must think the North Sea oil lasts forever. Short of the oil business, tourism is their largest "industry".

The EU will never get squared away until they sort out their banking mess. Unlike the Americans, they never forced those bozos to write all of the crap off their books. So now, for example, you have Deutsche Bank, a big sick bank, looking to merge with Commerzbank, another big sick bank, which will just create a mega-sick bank (while laying off 30,000 people in the process). With commercial lending rates at or below 0%, there's no easy way out for them. They need to take the haircut, but the EU braintrust is too scared or corrupt to do so. This story will end badly...just hoping it doesn't pull us back down into the gutter with them.

Which brings us to the Fed, who needs to jack the funds rate at least another four basis points so that it has room to maneuver when the next recession hits. If the economy is as wonderful as Trump and the boys say it is, it can surely withstand rates in the 3-4% range.

Maybe. Both Scotland and Ireland have had a biotech industry that is very strong and that was roaring along very nicely.
