The Grammy's

Since I haven't watched TV in 8 years I haven't seen any of the award shows. While reading the news from all the media outlets on the internet they all have articles about the Grammy's. So this is the song that won won best song, best music video and best rap/sung collaboration. And for some reason unknown the person who won was not there.

I stopped watching the Grammys a long time ago.......popular music skewed off into a very different direction than I listened to then and now. Waste of electrons; read a book instead while it started snowing last night.

Both my grammys died long ago, so I can't watch them.

The concept of a bunch of folks giving each other awards has no appeal to me. One can lump the Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes, Tonys, all of it, into the same pot.

Another reason not to waste time on these award shows is that they've become a platform for the segment of our society least connected with the realities of the average American to spout their extremist views.

Agreed. The question is, where does the money come from that supports this pile of FECES?

Brilliant and disturbing at the same time. It is like the old nursery rhymes, political protest statements hidden in nonsense. Even his moves make a statement.

The reason for Gambino's not being there was to protest the grammy's politics. As NJPiney pointed out, the Grammys are a platform for the segment of our society least connected with the realities of the average American...

Yes, they are infringing on territory normally claimed by Congress and the WH.

OTOH, I don't know who the average American even is anymore, but everyone, except those in Lake Wobegone, seems to think that they are in that group,

Wayne,
I am sure that after that above post you will not be running for any elective office.
Even if you had no opposition your non opponents would use that against you.
Now I am seriously LMAO.

I keep trying to watch it each year, but I get overdosed on the prancing and posing and full-of-oneself moments, all of which reach critical-mass rather quickly, as far as I am concerned.

I never could understand the words to the music or the video. This helps explain it.

I didn't know that Judy Garland also performed in blackface.

He should do one called "This is Africa" he could use most of this video in it :!:

IMHO this is what our politically correct country is becoming.
Maybe I will be dead before it goes all the way.

Funny how we react to all this stuff..........I can remember my father reacting similarly to music I listened to back......

Every older generation finds fault with the younger generation's choices, music, culture, politics, etc., and then one day they wake up and they are the older generation criticizing their children's children.

I have learned to shrug and simply accept that change is inevitable sine I know it has already happened.
