The campaign, called “Safe Embarcadero for All,” was launched March 20 after San Francisco Mayor London Breed proposed a 200-bed homeless Navigation Center in the city’s most desirable location, the Embarcadero along the coast of San Francisco Bay, earlier this month.

“The planned location for Mayor Breed's #megashelter is home to thousands of families, visited by millions of tourists and at the center of some of San Francisco's most iconic events - including the San Francisco Marathon, San Francisco Giants stadium and on one of the busiest bicyclist paths in the city,” reads the site posted by the group opposing the construction.

The campaign shamelessly raised over $60,000 and is on track to reach the desired $100,000 goal, with the money used to pay attorney Andrew Zacks, who often represents property owners, to help the dissatisfied "Not In My Backyard" residents in the neighborhood.

So what is Nancy Pelosi doing, This is her hometown.....

Good question. What exactly is she supposed to be doing? I'm an independent and tend to vote to the right and am certainly no fan of hers, but is she supposed to stop citizens from donating money to such a campaign? I'm also not a fan of the NIMBY label, which is often used related to railroad issues as well. It is usually and ignorantly intended as a slur, but simply refers to people protesting something happening in their own "backyard". If they aren't looking out for issues afftecing their own neighborhood, who will? I'm not saying they should have final say on an issue, since the public good related to specific projetcs may outweigh that of local residents, but they aren't out of line for voicing objections.

The way it's going the US will NOT have to send funds overseas to give out foreign aid.....they will be able to do it locally.

The biggest problem seems to be that some of these government officials don't seem to understand the concept of the term "illegal" in illegal alien.

I agree on understanding and they don't seem to get it (and neither will the American public) until it's too late............. and we're almost there. But it depends on your motivation and what you want. When you can elect a radical like AOC to office, there is some serious f'd up thinking going on.

Her leap to popularity reminds me of Obama and I wonder who is behind it. Obama was a freshman elected official when he was brought on the stage at the DNC in 04 and the next election cycle he was on the ballet. She is doing the same thing. No real experience, just promises and I feel her way of thinking will tip the country into some serious crap. I can't even watch or listen to her, she is so ate up with hatred for middle and upper class Americans.
