COVID-19 Is a Symptom of a Bigger Problem: Our Planet’s Ailing Health
https://news.yahoo.com/covid-19-symptom ... 49222.html

The biggest lesson is that COVID-19 is more than an illness. It is a symptom of the ailing health of our planet. Humanity’s dysfunctional relationship with nature has caused this wider disease. Understanding this root cause is critical, if we want to rise stronger after the crisis.

8 billion people is a problem which CV19 came close to addressing. See how fast the skies cleared during lockdown? If the next virus has a higher mortality rate, the Earth will do just fine.

Distinct changes in housing demand are already being seen surrounding all major cities - people want to get out of them now.

All that office space that companies were paying huge amounts of money for per square foot that are sitting empty of people are going to stay that way now that's it's being proven that as much if not more productivity occurs from work from home.

Will what's happening also change public education ??

Letters to the Editor: Online learning was a godsend to low-income students before the pandemic

As with all human endeavors, online education has a learning curve for both teachers and students. There is an abundance of pedagogical tools available that don't involve Zoom meetings.

One can only hope - there's precious little educating going one now and way too much training to take standardized tests.

Online education. I’m looking into this option. Pros and cons. A big con. It requires one parent to stay home. Big pro. It requires one parent to stay home. If I could stay home I would. No better way to be hands on in your child’s education. In the past 2 months my child’s skills have grown 10 fold. It took some bumping heads some crying but we got through it and came together stronger i have her reading Tolkin CHILDREN OF HURIN.I’m not sure if she can grasp the story line. She can slowly spit out the words. Time will tell

She is six and a half. Not sure she can grasp the book. We may read it on more time

Bit young, but more than once might be good. I think I read the entire Lord of the Rings set to my kids when my daughter was about that age. Both kids are voracious readers.
