It might be easier to list the converse, but............................I find all of the ones advertising anything medical horrible.

I have to agree with Rufus on this one. Any of the big pharma ads pushing their latest and greatest "breakthroughs". Drugs that "may have" side effects that are often worse than whatever it is they are trying to treat. Some of the drugs were originally developed to treat completely different conditions and were repurposed when they failed at their intended use but MIGHT have some value in something completely different. Anti siezure medication being pushed as a treatment for psoriasis?

Any ad where they mention death as a possible "side effect" more than three times better be treating something that's actually deadly.

On the other hand there are some ads that are actually way more clever/entertaining than the shows/movies that they are "interrupting".

Car Shield repair insurance. Advertise constantly on TV and radio, good luck getting a cent out of them for your car repair. The mechanic doesn't care that you have car shield, you pay him or you don't get your car. They will always have a reason the repair you got wasn't covered. Or after a giant hassel you finally get a few cents out of them.I have heard another thing they do is collect a bunch of premiums and then go out of business.

This is an excellent candidate for "most annoying", although any and all of the Medicare enrollment commercials are neck-and-neck. I don't care what Joe Namath, Mike Ditka, or Joe Theismann recommend. At this point, I can probably whup or outrun them anyway.

I'll add the Kars4Kids commercials and what is without any doubt in my mind the most annoying jingle ever created :!:

There is one commercial, in particular, that I find totally irritating because of its level of ignorance, epitomized by the clod they have as its main character.; in fact, I still do not know what it is trying to say or pitch.

The plot: A very tall and lanky athletic Black-man, wearing a red, basketball-player's uniform, intrudes in a quick shuffle into various vignettes, in which he immediately slaps a bundle out of a person's arms, even going so far as to knock a product away from a child's intended grasp. At the completion of each of his intrusions, he wags his index-finger at the people, grunting "huh-uh-uh," signaling his disapproval of what they had intended to do, and then he scurries out of the vignette frame, onto other mischief, one can assume.

The perpetrators of this hot-mess chose the perfect beanpole for this commercial because he comes across as being as ignorant and stupid in what he does, and beyond, as possible, which fits, I suppose, the intention of the commercial. But WHAT is its intention? I have no idea. And if I ever figure out what the commercial is hawking, I will make a point of never, ever using or buying their "product."

Anybody else, here, ever see this commercial? Am I wrong? If I am, correct me. Educate me.

Murph, I'm going out on a limb here. I think (I don't follow basketball) the star is known for blocking shots. What that has to do with withwhat ever insurance is being hawked,I don't know.

Oooohhhh, that makes sense, since that's what he's doing - blocking actions by folks. But out of the basketball milieu, his actions seem mentally-challenged in their uncalled for rudeness. So what could they be selling regarding insurance?

Perhaps, they are being ironic ; that is, is that particular individual known for his social skills and intellectual prowess?

They have resurrected an ad sequence from maybe 5-10 years ago where the two "folk singers" are strumming their guitars while actors perform skits where a folksy "truism" is acted out and the tag line is it's as easy/like/better than whatever they are watching.

As happy as a witch in a broomstick factory

As happy as a camel on hump day

Dikembe Mutombo -- known for shot blocking and the finger wagging on court

It's the juxtaposition of his trademark set into non-basketball situations that's is being used.
