Actually, I'm willing to cut these folks a little more slack than some of this
forum's members...I think that they (at Stout Auctions) may have been operating
far too late into the night with too little coffee (or maybe too much "adult beverage")
and got their fumble fingers all tangled up while assembling the listing(s).

This listing's photo (#374) goes with listing #375 which has raised some hilarity on
another thread here, and the one on #375 goes with this listing...a simple
transposition of photos and listings. Should have been caught if the poster
was anywhere near knowledgeable or alert. I will dispense with my normal
dig about not being able to recognize a locomotive two times out of three,
as both these were at least locomotives....

I have done that on eBay 2 times myself BUT after I post the auction I go in and check it and correct the mistakes right away.

Never heard any comments on how this last auction did. Someone on another board posted a link to the high bids of the previous 2 auctions, but I haven't seen than for this last one. Don't even remember where I saw it. I ask, because it requires a "log in" to view the high bids and I'm not a member and really don't care to be. Just curious.

I don't know if there are any big conclusions to be made from Stout's last auction (Part 5 of the Seacrest collection). Many of the two rail-items were sold in lots that are probably going to be broken up and resold on ebay. Many of the other 2-rail items are probably best described as projects -- the winners were buying models that needed to be finished and/or repaired.

$200 .....not sure if that body was an old IMP shell, but the drives under it might be worth the $'s given what a Q-car drive or a brace of NWSL drives might run.

The drive system under this steeple cab is not a Q-car drive, as it looks more
like the Overland drive system that was in what I suspect this model to be,
namely the Overland OMI.0212 Chicago, South Shore & South Bend RR
85-ton GE steeple cab. Note the central gear tower in each truck (rather
than the individual motor drive in each Q-Car truck) and the inverted equalizer
sideframes characteristic of the CSS&SB GE steeple cabs (and the one later
Baldwin-Westinghouse steeple cab also ordered with the same truck design
specified). Quentin does not offer that style of sideframe (although I have
supplied him Current Line (I think ) sideframes that he used to make
me two of those trucks.

Depending on how much "modification" was done to this model while in
Mr. Seacrest's ownership, it went "cheap" in my opinion (despite that
pantograph and the sidesaddle mounting! )

That was what I thought as well, but was unsure of the Overland heritage

..........it went "cheap" in my opinion

Given what the trolley/traction estate collection on eBay has been selling for........ YES!
