Looks pretty crude, which makes me think scratch built.

I agree, but I would call it homemade as scratch built seems to nice a term for something this crude, not to split hairs.

If Carey wants it I will yield to him; otherwise I will bid (anyone else interested?). It should go cheap. Interesting that it is listed in the freight car section. Thanks for calling our attention to it.

Definitely home-brew, judging from the use of express car
type trucks for this "locomotive". Mechanically ingenious,
albeit quite crude in bodywork.
I would neither need nor want it (too many better projects in
the queue awaiting my attention)!
