Six of those castings make a nice foundation for an SP 16000 gal. tank. I have maybe six, and prefer them to all others. I would guess $15 + priority mail, so around $20 total. Do not forget you have to make your own sides!

You might look at all of the pictures - there's a boiler and more included. Not going to fit in less than a large flat rate priority box -- That's ~$18 just for the shipping.

Youse is correct. I did not look further. Yes, currenly underpriced, but not by much. If I didn't already have an Adams Kanawha, I wiuld be bidding (up to maybe $50 total)..

Here is a very old tender, partially restored. It came from Jay, through Maroon. At first, I thought it was a 1938 Lobaugh, but the rivet patterns do not match. It is out of proportion, and at least 17/64. It gets flat black paint soon. I might bead blast it first. Thanks, Jay.

I am tempted. I need no more of either.

There are very few O scale modelers today who have the skill set and tools necessary to make something out of those parts. I have a good backlog of O scale locos and other older kits awaiting my efforts so this collection of parts would probably never be completed in my shop.

Some of these older items have passed through several hands with various skill levels having worked on them. I am currently rebuilding a Scalecraft PRR K-4s and a Saginaw PRR G-5s. They are coming along nicely but it takes time. With a bit of effort these older USA produced models can be made into nice locos (not shelf models or museum pieces but good operating models) and their mechanisms are bullet proof.

I know at least 3 O scale hobbyists around the USA who like these early locos. I am sure there are more.

There are more than three on this forum - you, me, Dave, both DeBruins, Steve Neill, a couple others . . . and look at some of the prices these doorstop Diesels are bringing, from folks we do not know! This is a serious niche in our hobby.

Do you have to re-do the firebox on your G5? I have one in the queue that needs a new firebox.

As Joe, who is a competent machinist notes, those parts are not for people without some serious skills. They're not a bargain unless you have the ability to turn them into something. An old Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" line: "A man has to know his limitations." They are beyond mine.
