No, This is a General Models articulated kit (circa 1950/51) that uses the Varney 10 wheeler mechanisms mounted over an Adams cast boiler. When All Nation took over the GM prduct line, they continued to sell off the articulated kits and parts until they ran out of them. As far as I know, they nver produced any more of this kit.

The kit was poorly designed with only the rear driver set powered but I have seen at least one or two of them built with both driver sets powered using Us Hobbies gearboxes The rear of the frame as designed has a large cast brass tailbeam that floats over the trailing truck.

I have a complete kit for this loco and if I ever get around to it, I will install power in both drive assemblies and machine a fixed tailbeam for the loco.

In the GMC magazine ( The O gager) the articulated makes it's appearance mid year of 1950 ..with mention of a run of 100 "kits" available ...

GMC goes bankrupt end of 1950 ....

All Nation buys GMC and in their new catalog October 1951 the GMC line is offered ... the Articulated is missing in the line up ..but it's boiler is listed in the parts list ...but with no price

The GMC Mountain is also missing from the 1951 All Nation catalog ...but reappears in ads the following year 1952 .

I do not have a year by year run of All Nation catalogs to know exactly when the Articulated reappeared ....but it is featured on the cover of the 8th edition All Nation catalog ...catalog text .."due to a large number of requests, raw castings are now available ...here is the challenge you've been waiting for" ... an example running ( or at least sitting ) on the Minirama layout in the Wisconsin Dells ..( begun in 1960) ... the GMC articulated may not have been a favorite at Minirama ....for some of it's design "short comings" as Bob and Joe have pointed out ...as it did not appear in any other photos I've found of Minrama...which has it's own facebook page !!!

These old locomotive kits fascinate me but not enough to get into them. I have enough trouble getting my "vintage" 1980's stuff to run and sound good.
