You will want to cut grooves in the top of the bolsters and center beam to clear the train line which hangs just below the bottom of the floor.
A coat of sanding sealer and a rub down with fine sandpaper or steel wool before gluing together will improve the finished appearance.
The sides are made up of several pieces. Rufus wrote a description of how to glue them together. Hopefully he will paste it to this thread.

Thanks, John! Let me clear some other projects off the bench top and we’ll resome this conversion!

Jon, make sure you double check the center to center distance of the body bolsters with prototype info. Model plans are not always accurate to work from. Ask me how I know!

Over on the Paintshop thread we talked of this.
Two or three methods to choose from.
I edge glue the pieces, then back the result with a glue-impregnated cloth like old sheet or muslin. An old time-honoured method from the Ancients; rolled or pressed and the result is bombproof.
Lately I have been given to being very lasy and just cutting new sides of scribed styrene.
Stealing Rufus' method:
Rufus T. Firefly wrote: One reason that so many of these do fail right at the joints when assembling the multi-piece sides is that folks failed to actually edge glue the sides together fearing getting glue on those pre-painted sides. Good Carpenter's glue very carefully applied, everything weighted and held tight for a day.....no rushing here - just do something else while the glue firmly sets.
Reinforcing the sides helps, too. Doing the 1 side is easy from the other open side; doing the 2nd side is a bit annoying, but certainly doable. Laminating it cross-grain helps.

Maths exam question: An airliner is schedule to depart City A at 9:50am and arrive at City B at 12:15pm, flying a distance of 945 miles. Calculate the odds of that ever really effing happening. Show your work.
Slim if they were headed East to West because of time zones, West to East, NO WAY JOSE!

Given that the departure is in this country, less than zero. It'll be delayed.........

News: It was announced today that airlines will be removing the horizontal portions of the seats on all domestic flights this year. The resulting increase in passenger capacity for an average aircraft in US domestic service will be six.

They will also just have straps hanging from the ceiling not unlike that found in subways useful for stabilizing one's position or for committing suicide during those really long flights.
But 1st Class will be retained for those that possess way too much money and should like to give a good bit of it away; those rates will simply double and re-double until that cow ceases to bleed.
They are also attempting to eliminate other business frills and extras like.........maintenance, and......radar, and most of the technical instruments up in the cockpit...........and navigation........so if you see your destination out the window, just sing out, and we'll toss you out there.

I think you may have the center sill up side down. the flanges of the milled wood center sill should face down.
