At $305, it is a reasonable price for a strip and repaint project -- the only damage I'm seeing is the ladders on the rear tender (and I'm not enough of a steam guy to know whether or not that is actually damage!) The harsh lighting probably makes the paint look worse than it is in person.

And, no, I am not the seller.

The paint is probably good. It just wasn't applied very well!

At $300, it is a decent buy, but I got outbid!

I've not seen that prototype before and am NOT enough of a C&O buff to know if it is even remotely correct, but it has an interesting look. I've never been a big Pacific buff, nor all that fond of Elesco feedwater heaters, but that's a blonds, brunettes, red heads kind of issue. It might grow on me!

The C&O F-17 and F-19 are appealing Pacifics. The one I like has the flying pumps, huge Vanderbilt tender, and drivers that have huge round holes in them like the NYC streamlined Hudsons.

I cannot figure out the cab roof contour from photos, so alhough the drivers are ready, I have not cut metal.

But Paul Stroebel (RIP) made one, using my Hudson techniques. It turned out quite well - his used spoked drivers.
