Fun stuff, Erik -- Sometimes 2014 seems like yesterday, and sometimes it seems like ancient history. Here is what our portable layout looked like in 2014:

https://dl.dropbox.com/scl/fi/v1fs1kvbszs43eaja2onn/2-rail-O-Scale-2014-Plano-Texas-Train-Show.mp4?rlkey=m8f0ed7wdmhdom2i9gbdnd6js

At the time, the layout was single track with 42" radius curves. The RSD4/5 shown in the video complained going around the tight curves. And forget running passenger trains. Later that year, we began replacing the modules and adding more functionality. Without ever "starting over", we morphed the layout into a double-track mainline with 61" and 65" curves, with a long double-ended yard, full-length lead tracks, and decent industrial switching area. So for us, 2014 is the "before times".

Yeah, I feel the same way about time. I tell someone it was only back in '06 or 2010 or ? and then when I think about it I have a "holy sh*t" moment and realized that was a long time ago..........a lot has happened in our lives since then.

Great Video!

A quote I've heard a lot in the past year or maybe I just understood it better.....but it is certainly is accurate for how our country and the world functions today. "The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there". Says it all.

Sorry, I guess that quote isn't exactly apropos.....but I still like it.
