Hoping to get some information on this model. Below are some guesses by the owner and others.

The Scale Models Inc. ads talk about bronze castings and punched copper sides. But for all I know, they might have an earlier version they sold. Diesel Model Co., which seems sold by Dallas Modelcraft, used Adams & Son castings. But some castings I could find online had their name molded in and no names in these castings. They also talked about being bronze, not aluminum.

Wow, this is very cool.

While Adams & Son probably cast the model, the match plates do not really resemble most of the Adams/Exacta/maybe Pomona or Siebert.

Just study the windshield area - note the space between side windows and windshield pillar.

Then take a look at similar Diesels in our Doorstop threads. This one may be a not-so-accurate one of a kind.

The old "Doorstop" thread has lost all but the last two photos of EMD models. I can add them back if there is any interest.

Great Train of Tomorrow diesel set ...... these were made by Clyde Barnes of Denver Model Locomotive Works ... ads from 1944-46

Clyde was the first offer diesels postwar ...... wide variety of construction techniques ...wood , fiber , aluminum. odd little motors , odd gearing .... this period conventional building materials were still restricted .... so Clyde was using what he could find .

Many examples of his "E" units have been found unpowered ....display only .... Smithsonian even has a set of NYC AA's
