OMI did a 44-ton Whitcomb but not the USATC loco like Maryland Midland's.

Not cheap, but can be found in the $550-650 ballpark unless you want it from Brasstrains; then it's $950. GRIN!

Yoder is a very common Amish last name not unlike Stoltzfus....

Yeah, sorry. Up in Western Maryland's Garrett County, there are large Amish and Mennonite communities, and I swear two thirds of them are Yoders. Probably similar in south-central Pennsylvania. Rich is in Wyomissing, PA, so it's possible there's some connection somewhere.

Maybe back a couple generations but he certainly isn't Amish.

He's well known to several here. GRIN!

Interesting indeed because Richard Yoder and Rachael Yoder sold 7 Edgedale Court, Wyomissing, PA, to Mohamad Khalaf in 2022.
Public records indicate that 625 Anne Dr, Wernersville, PA 19565 is their home now.

Aside: Yoder is a common Amish name here in Kentucky.
Also, My wife and I asked one of our neighbors if she was Amish because her house looks Amish-built. She said, "I am not Amish but the house was Amish built." The neighbor's house looks just like the one at 7 Edgedale Court.

I imagine there will be some negative response to this But I have been buying a lot from Trainz in the last 2 years with no issues.

I'd had a long run of good fortune with Trainz until my most recent purchase, a 95 year-old Flyer 3015 that was clearly damaged during the packing process, not during transit. A quick call to their customer service got a "No worries, just send it back and we'll refund your money." No, dammit, this is something I want, it was in nice shape, but the gorillas in the packing department effed it up. It was very irritating, and has me reconsidering purchases of anything I'd deem fragile.

Also, I know they have bought up a lot of parts supplies from dealers that have retired or otherwise closed their businesses. They have some bits I could use, but their shipping scheme is oppressive. Less than $20 worth of small parts netted a proposed shipping charge of $14...nope, not happening.

I’ve only bought a few things from them over the years. The only issue I can remember is a faulty draw bar on a PS-2 engine. I sent it back to them and they repaired it and sent the engine back free of charge. I’d say everything else has been ‘as described’ and what I expected, and priced reasonably.

I have found Trainz to be highly hit or miss on rolling stock arriving intact and undamaged. Rolling cars up in brown paper and tossing them into a box loosely doesn't work well...for the cars. Things have arrived in an explosively disassembled condition requiring a sieving of the contents to capture all the parts. Fortunately, even then I have been able to reassemble / restore the cars and having learnt my lesson I only consider their offerings if it is something I really am in great pursuit of and if damaged well within my abilities to address.

I have had no problems with small stuff and detail bits other than the shipping costs. However, as the small stuff and detail bits tend to becoming scarcer and scarcer, I file those costs under supply & demand and keep moving.
