The forums show as "Not Secure". Does anyone else have this or is it just my computer? Any ideas on how to correct it?

I get the same message occasionally. I do one of three things when it happens.
1. I just happened a moment ago. I reentered the MTJ URL and it opened with "https:".
2. I sometimes add the "s" to http and open MTJ as a secure site.
3. Sometimes I just open it as a none secure site and like magic it opens as a secure site.



If you do not feel secure opening it with the "not secure" warning, just add an "s" to the URL.

Hmm. I just tried what you suggested and it still shows "Not Secure". Strange.

happens to me occasionally. usually a picture my browser thinks is not secure, like a hosting service.

If a picture is on a "not secure" site, it will always be "not secure." Adding an "s" to "http" will not make it secure.
MTJ has always been secure for me, even if I get a "not secure" message. I usually just add the "s" to "http".
If adding an "s" does not work, then I probably have been misdirected to a different site that is not secure.

MTJ has not been http for years. Old log-ins I had were http, deleted them.
If suddenly un-secure, the closed green padlock icon changes to open red.
I think you click or double click the padlock, it tells you where the issue is, and I recall it always said a picture on this page was non-secure.

I forgot about the padlock icon.
MTJ does not have one.
Let's test to see if MTJ is really secure.

Bill Lango's two websites are still up, but Vintage Castings has no new posts.

The last post on Vintage Castings was from Bill Lango on June 29, 2018 (the day Bill died.) His post is dated June 30, 2018.

Bill was an avid toy train and toy soldier enthusiast and published Toy Soldier Review magazine. An ambassador of the hobby, he promoted The East Coast Toy Soldier Show & Sale for 35 years.

not sure what device/os/browser you are using.....but green padlocks on mine. You won't have it if you logged into the disused http site.

MyPal (fork of FF has it), Basilisk has it, latest FF on win10 has it but they dropped the colour.

My flip phone does not. Oh, wait, I can't do internet on the flip......

I use Chrome on a desktop running Windows 10.
I have Microsoft Edge but never use it. I just tried Edge and see the padlock.

There ya go. I wouldn't use Chrome, ever. Opinion. I'd use IE or Edge first, and won't touch either one.

THIS laptop is 23 years old, XP-32 bit, works fine.

Now on my computer the forum shows as secure with a closed lock icon. You guys are way more tech savvy than me.
