Beautiful.
Except for all that stacked wood.Now understand that the pattern of the wood and the photo is great.It's the thought of the work to get the wood and the coming cold weather I don't like.I am from Ohio and I don't think I could take those winters anymore.

San, where in SD? I went there in Rapid city, the fire house pub have a good Stout coffee beer...nice memories over there in a small town...

Daisy..tell tramp to change the wood stick for red wine.
Here is almost the same all the year no changing color on trees.
The old people population increase considerable....but still the same.
Now we are enjoying a nice temperature range 68 low to75 high is not too bad for Us...

Wow Daisy! Your trees are vivid Orange and Red. 
Ours just stay green until the first freeze (end of December) and then drop all leaves suddenly.
Do you know why leaves turn colors? The trees withdraw chlorophyll from the leaves and store it in the roots until they need it next spring. The colors appear as the chlorophyll is being extracted. Trees have been conservationists for millions of years.
Does Mifune help with the leaves? Our cat tries to help with digging holes. It is no help because I have to stop using the pick-axe until the cat gets out of the way.
I notice (from previous postings) that you like to take photos at night. How about a photo of this mini lighthouse at night? That would be cool.

Will this do? I don't feel like going all the way down south to Port Clyde tonight.
Mifune not only helps with the leaves, you should see him when Tramp's shoveling snow, digging like a madman at the snowbanks. And when I harvest root vegetables out of the garden, he digs all around and gets carrots and runs them to the kitchen door. No kidding! He gets upset when we play pool because he wants to be involved, but Tramp won't let him on the table.
ps. Andre, if each of those logs of wood were a bottle of red wine, It would be a very different winter ahead. Especially since Tramp doesn't drink wine.

Do you remember in the old movies that they would show the speedometer getting up to 50 and 60 mph and that it was very tense because of this high rate of speed?What would they think of todays interstate speeds?

The sunrise on those cream-colored sails is gorgeous, as is the great sense of perspective you got with the two chunks of land. Well done!

Something very satisfying and comforting with seeing your entire winter's heat sitting there ready to go. I never had that in my life until I put in our coal stove. Always had been prey to the availability of oil, and room in the budget to pay for it, and where I live now, no oil truck could get in and out when there's snow on the ground. Now my winter's heat is in a 4x4x8 box, and let the Ol' Man bring winter however he wants. We'll be 'high'and dry', and toasty warm. It's a good feeling.

I couldn't agree more! It's a wonderful feeling looking at that wood. And that's only one of three rows of it down cellar. AND the wood is only half the heat - the other half is tons of wood pellets around the corner from the wood. Who needs an oil furnace! (kind of brazen. i need it. but not much 
)
It's great to see all these pictures from everyone all around the country. I've lived in Boston, Manhattan, LA, Chicago, Florida, Iowa, Vermont, and Maine. I loved them all. Well maybe not Chicago. But it is pretty cool riding the El up around those beautiful buildings.
