Hobo Jungle

It would take more than salt to keep me out of the Jungle. It's getting wild on the other side. Even Scott showed up, which, as someone pointed out, might get him banned from the other place. Now wouldn't that be humorous.
Jon, does the Lionel big steam have the unsightly gap above the rear truck wheels?
San, what do you run for O-scale engines?

It really would take some side views of the locomotives to determine this. One of the best examples I have ever seen was when Scott Mann posted a side view of his brass Hudson compared to an MTH Premier Hudson. The gap between the MTH firebox and trailing truck was laughable!!!!!!!
Running that red block Charlie.

Tramp,
Here is the blub from their catalog. It is pretty acurate, with the exception that the "Little" Boys comment seems to be at a level of condescention I would expect from Poland, Ohio.
I do enjoy these engines, and, in the $600-700 range, they are a better value to me than something like the latest $1600 Alleghany.
I also have the T-1, which is nice looking, but has made three trips to the Lionel hospital. So, YMMV. They are quite nice, but not without problems.
LionMaster Steam Locomotives
The ultimate articulated locomotive, the Union Pacific Big Boy, joins the semi-scale LionMaster roster. An imposing presence on any layout, the Lionel LionMaster Union Pacific Big Boy measures 29” versus the 25 1/4” length of other manufacturer’s semi-scale “Little” Boys, and can still easily negotiate O-31 curves.
Features:
• TrainMaster Command Control equipped—able to run in Command Control Mode or in Conventional Transformer Control Mode
• RailSounds sound system with CrewTalk communication, TowerCom announcement and DynaChuff synchronized chuffing
• Odyssey System for speed control
• Wireless Tether connection between locomotive and tender
• Directional lighting including operating headlight, classification lights and operating back-up light on tender
• ElectroCoupler on rear of tender
• Dual powerful maintenance-free motors (Hudson locomotives have a single motor)
• Four traction tires (Hudson has two
traction tires)
• Fan-driven smoke unit
• Die-cast metal locomotive body, pilot and trucks
• Die-cast metal tender body and trucks
• Separately applied metal details
• Accurate, separately applied builder’s plates
• Authentically detailed cab interior
• Flickering firebox in cab (T-1 Duplex has glowing firebox)
• Cab window glass
• Engineer and fireman figures
• Length: Big Boy: 29”
