Was that a Pennsy station or some other road? Looks entirely too plain to be Pennsy.

Pretty sure it was a PRR station but then back at turn of the century I don't know how plain or not PRR stations were or how uniform standardized they might have been then.

Did the force eventually push the building over?

That's an interesting photo.
Different from most from that era.
Look at the track,ties,ballast.
That structure looks like something I would build.
What was its purpose?
Does the water run all the time?
My guess is no. It would eventually create track problems.
Not sure why the lady is there but she brightens the picture.

Wow! A real days work.
I remember buying nice Christmas trees in the 1940s for $.25 and less that were pretty nice.

Something about the black and white photos makes them seem to be more authentic to me.
Is the photo just above of the Greencastle area a colorized b&w? Probably a great photo
to advertise Greencastle. I would have liked to visit that lake.
For me ,most but not all, steam loco photos are fine in b&w since so many steam locos look
black even when they are not. Of course there are exceptions.
On the other hand, Diesel locos usually look best in color even if the loco is black.
