That must be a great spot. It's too bad that nearly all of those big old resort hotels failed and were torn down or burned down (not The Summit, it still there in Farmington). Looks like late 1930's or early 1940's vintage.

I've not stayed there but I have at Nemacolin when we wanted to take a few days to get away and also visit Falling Water and the other Frank Lloyd Wright sites in the area.

Having been born, raised and edjucated in that area I haven't visited either of those two fine establishments. However, I will gladly hazard a guess that the Summit would be much, MUCH cheaper than Laurel Highlands. Several years ago the old crowd at Shannon Airport considered fly up to LH for a Sunday brunch. Unfortunately? one pilot made the mistake of getting the prices. Yee Gads!!! We quickly changed our itinerary. Only for the mega-rich.

Sorry to disappoint you Rufus but we aint flying Learjets!

My Fudpucker Airlines, of which I am chief pilot, chief mechanic and all around broom pusher consists of an antique Cessna 120, an experimental homebuilt RV-4 and a homebuilt 2 seat helicopter. None of which carry more than 2 persons and do not exceed 205 mph. One aircraft even has a navigation radio! Real modern stuff!
