Well, they are a bit of distance away from the photographer (a young Marlin Perkins....) who captured them on film from a hidden position in the bush unawares that they were being recorded in their natural habitat freely associating with one another on the rails.

Back around 1970 I cruised by the Cleveland lakefront Hulletts in a boat while they were operating. Quite a sight and loud (they were transmitting as much as 200hp through straight cut spur gears).
