The scene above reminds me that that the car would take siding now and then when another car was met.
I never saw the motorman get off and throw any switch when we went into a siding.
There were no switches in convenient places where I could see them before I got a bicycle in 1945 just after
the streetcars were gone. I missed them. The new buses that replaced them just didn't smell right.

Is that second vehicle derelict and being towed by the first, or does it have passengers and packages aboard - I can't quite make out.

From left to right since they are going that direction........

The 1st is a shop built freight motor - take a boxcar and convert it. Lots of trolley/traction lines did this. 2nd is a passenger coach.
