Somebody may well make a wrong move. Model trains will be the least of our concerns.

I really tried to stay out of it this year. It is a fun thread - it always deteriorates after about twelve posts, and then gets locked. My theory is that the folks who have actually ordered these things are somewhat insecure about their investments, and have to proselytize to validate their own beliefs. When gently challenged they go gently off the rails.

I find it fascinating to watch. I too hope Erik can pull it off - he is a nice guy and very talented.

That sums things up pretty well. I think some are also just insecure.

Well, the fascination has worn off since just as you stated, it's also terribly predictable

And, Eric is all that - I'd like for him to succeed and he very well might, but they've set the bar terribly high for him to meet on his 1st project.
