Here's something to ponder: 60 odd years ago when I was a lad in grammar school there was no such things as school shootings. There were plenty of guns around and you could even mail order them. So maybe, just maybe the problem lies somewhere else.....like maybe video games like "Active Shooter", violence in films, television, and all the other "training" material for these whack jobs.

60 years ago lads had parents that raised them and taught them, cared for them, etc. Now we have "parents" like the Turpins.

30 years ago we had a high school rifle team. I wonder if they still have it?
I find today’s parents want to be their kids best friend. Not their kids’ best parent.

So maybe there should be background checks and a license/permit with training to be a parent.

I have noticed that some states are raising the age to 18 to get married.

Almost everything else requires licensing.

I have noticed that some states are raising the age to 18 to get married.

It was raised from 13 in VA if she had parental consent and was pregnant up a minimum marriage age at 18, or 16 if a child is emancipated by court order. Ok, 13 and pregnant speaks volumes on parenting......

Thanks, Tom. It seems a bit complicated:

- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Guard_of_the_United_States, and

Moreover, I think that these days, we can afford armories to hold our weapons.

Certainly a legitimate point! Add it to the list!
