Early bottles were the 6.5-ounce contour bottle ~ 1915(6?), but there were larger 10-, 12- and 26-ounce versions as time flowed by......mid 50's, I think.

Wayne, The Weather Channel said that Arizona is about to experience heavy rains that can result in significant flooding since the ground has been so packed-down and dry for so long a time . I hope you and your homestead will be safe and sound.

Back in the 40s we used to get milk delivered to the door. Back then the cream would float to the top. Had those little paper tabs in the top and when removed I always got to lick the tab that had thick gooey cream attached. But they also had bottles know as cream top and there was a special dipping spoon to remove the cream that accumulated in the top.

No dipping spoon, but we had home delivered milk in glass bottles, in the 50's, in St. Louis. Pevely Milk used to deliver and collect empties every couple of days. Also pushed any other dairy products they carried, including ice cream, ice cream bars, cottage cheese, etc. What's not to miss about that? Labor and gas were cheap and super markets didn't exist in those day, so.....................

Yeah, we got into the "dog days of summer" much sooner this year. We've also had more rain and flooding so everything is green and the humidity is nasty.

We had flooding last week and this week nothing but sunshine and heat.

I visited Arizona for three weeks in July of 1988 and again in 1990.Never had any nights below 90 and days were always @ 110.
Yhat forcast abobe looks pretty cool to what we had.
The worst part of this story is that I liked it.

My parent bought their first TV in 47 in KC Missouri where I was born. It was a 17 inch Raytheon in a console. That went with us to the west coast. When the wife and I got married that became our first TV. We took any hand downs that anyone would give us as we had just bought a house.

These TVs were all tube type and to keep them operational would require replacing bad tubes. To keep from calling a service repair person you could remove all the tube and take them to a local grocery or drug store that had these tube testing machines. Plug in into the appropriate socket and the meter would tell you if the tube was good or bad and sometimes in between.

You always unplugged the TV however there a something in there that could hold a charge. Whatever it was I accidentally touched it and pow, flattened me against the wall one day.
