From what I know of that campus, that might have been one of least offensive activities.......

It won't until they can't find anymore pictures in high school and college yearbooks. And from what I have been reading there are people that have dedicated themselves to find anything they can.

My father in law was in the army, Germany during WW2 and he like many service men brought back many Nazi souvenirs. He had this old trunk that he kept it all in. They were moving in the mid 70s and he wanted to get rid of it so we sold it at a garage sale we were having at my house in Garden Grove. That was the first stuff to sell and then we had people coming by wanting to know if we had more. There are people that collect these items just like they collect civil war items.

The problem to day is that people want to judge past adolescent behavior by today's moral and PC standards.

And then we have those that create hoax hate crimes.....

It's not always adolescent but the premise stands correctly - applying today's standards of conduct to behavior decades ago. I wonder if those doing this will have the joy of having their behavior being judged 30-40 years from now by the standards of their own future. Throwing stones in the glass houses that they have built might get hazardous.

It really has become a mob-mentality witch hunt. Anyone who is offended by anything at all, legitimate or not, has a legion of bleeding hearts ready to gather behind them and validate their claimed pain. The "Me Too" movement is connected to it as well. A hotbed of the problem exists on college campuses where impressionable, idealistic youths are affected by like-minded professors who have never made a living outside the walls of academia. The students emerge with a mindful of mush and a degree that qualifies them to do nothing in life other than replace the professors who taught them.

By all means, let's do away with college education. Nothing good has every come from that anyway, right. While we're at it, let's do away with all public education as well because the last thing this country needs are people capable of independent thought and reasoning. On to the book burnings and the institution of a state religion, public executions of all felons and anyone critical of our Gov't, and let's do away with elections and all that other waste of time stuff, too.

No, not cruel enough - take away their chargers! But this applies to adults, too. I don't see a lot of difference between the generations and their mindless obedience to their phones. If anything the older generations are worse, and more entitlement invested, and should know better....regressed to children.

Nope. Burn the books too. To many ideas and too much thinking - can't have any of that anymore.

Really???????? A little dramatic, aren't we? Being able to criticize the state of an institution is quite valid and isn't the same thing as advocating its elimination. I have a college degree and successfully saw all three of my children through their graduations, so I'm not anti-college. But there is no question the environment on campuses is much different than it once was, and the change is neither for the better or one that encourages expansion of students' minds, which I thought was part of the value of higher education. All I remember when I was at school was a scattering of potheads carrying "No Nukes" signs. At my daughter's school (Monmouth U.) there was a recent movement to re-name Woodrow Wilson Hall because he was apparently a racist. At my son's former school (Stockton U.) a bust of Richard Stockton was removed because he was a slaveholder. Apparently a small statue was offensive but not the Stockton name on every letterhead or other document, on sides of vehicles or the very name of the school itself. Then there is the too-common protests and shout-downs of speakers on campus, at graduations or other events. I'm not referring to the protesting of what they are saying but their very right to say it at all. At institutions that were once bastions of freedom of speech, freedom from speech is now the norm. How does any of this prepare our youth for the real world they are about to enter?

We are indeed!!!! And we are just getting into the spirit of the times, letting that pendulum swing to the extremes that are being so embraced in this era.

There's a point in here somewhere....that 's a hint! I say, I say, that's a hint! Stay with me on this now. Don't be like those others that are just about as sharp as a bag of wet mice.

Seems harsh.
Anyway, public eddificashun from K-12 through 4 years of xxx-studies is explicitly designed to indoctrinate, not to foster critical thinking.
Some felonies might be best punished by public execution, the better to discourage others.
