What on Earth...
Re: What on Earth...
Murph, it's a movie (Idle Hands (1999)). No animals were harmed.

To me, even depicting such violence against such animals as cats hurts, and is debasing to the person who enjoys being such a mean bully. I don't find it entertainment.
P.S. Go roll your eyes at somebody else .

Do you think we should be doing this. ????
China's human-like monkeys spark concerns
https://www.foxnews.com/science/chinas- ... k-concerns
A computer scientist who is credited as a researcher on a Chinese medical experiment that saw monkey brains implanted with human genes to make them more human, has slammed the project as ethically unacceptable.
Kind of reminds me of The Island of Doctor Moreau

Not a new idea; in fact the books of David Brin (Uplift Wars) relate this scenario far more than Verne's work.
Should we? Who's we? The USA? Humanity? One might create a list of humans doing things that were bad decisions.
Ethics aside - the Chinese are far ahead of us in such manipulations solely due to willingess to consider doing them. I suspect that the only reason the rest of the world does not is that they have all agreed not to do it. We can clone animals and have been able to do that for years. Replicants are just around the corner - next, meet Roy Batty.

Why are you interested in my response? Rufus is a medical researcher, and is presumably up on the ethical considerations.
When I was in school, the U.C.Berkeley labs were drawing intense fire for their inhumane treatment of lab animals. I don't even know where those labs were.

Well, obviously because you are such a fun guy with whom to converse. I thought you knew I felt that way about reading your postings and occasionally interacting with you. Believe me, there is only one Roy. And I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to see what's next from you.

P.S. Just because somebody disagrees with you, and/or takes issue with something you have posted, doesn't mean you are not interesting to read as a perspective. Just looka what you wrote, just above...
P.P.S. Life is complicated.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.
Just because somebody disagrees with you.........

Well, sometimes we can, even if just for a few fleeting moments in time.
Then, Pooooooffff!!!

It was hot and he wanted to cool down. Probably drunk and since there was nothing but trash around him it didn't make any difference.

Yet, there is something orgiastic about it, a good deal beyond it being simply a Woodstock-like uninhibited moment. Eh?

Re: What on Earth...
11 inches of snow dumped on Minnesota today. What the ?
................................................
2 ADULT Black Bears fought/brawled on a lawn
right in front of a home in suburban Branchville, New Jersey, today. Homeowner and neighbors watched the action.
Bloody clumps of black fur found afterwards. Authorities (actually) advised residents afterward never to go out and try to break such brawls up.
Oh.
Really? Ya sure?!
And just in case any of you
MTJ denizens are wondering, if the brawling bears move thru the woods down the road to my house, you know darn well, I'll be ready with my trusty bear-kit.
