Looting damage adds up to more than $400 million in the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., according to an estimate from the Anderson Economic Group released Friday.

"The looting is unfortunate,” Brian Peterson, Anderson's director of public policy and economic analysis, said in a statement. “Many states were on the verge of reopening after a two-month-plus COVID-19 closure, and now some of these businesses will not be able to reopen.”

The analysis covers the period between May 29 and June 3 and includes property damage, lost inventory, cleanup and reconstruction costs, and closure-related lost wages. Anderson's estimates don't include costs to state or local governments that experienced damage or smaller metropolitan areas.

Defiant DC mayor names plaza 'Black Lives Matter'

The Washington DC mayor has changed the name of a plaza outside the White House to "Black Lives Matter Plaza" in a rebuke to President Trump.

Just more deflection by democrats because of their own incompetence.

All the major cities that are experiencing an insurrection are controlled by far left progressive liberal democrats, Obama was president for 8 years and Chicago was his home town where his Presidential library is being built. The murder capital of the United States. Even he choose not to live there.

The democrats have total control of the police force in these cities and they have done nothing to serve their minority communities. But they want their vote.

Do you suppose the mayor of DC will hold a memorial for all the innocence black people that have been killed in her city while she has been mayor.

In the 1970s there were still Republicans who were willing to turn on Nixon when they found he had betrayed the idea of what America was about. It will be interesting to see when Trump, as likely, loses the election in 2020 and tries to remain in power, whether the Mitch McConnells of this world will support him as he claims election fraud or whatever. Our President, like all cruel and craven would-be dictators, will eventually fall, like most do.

Now even his evangelical base is wavering, recognizing they have made a pact with the devil himself because he supports their social values, at least in word, if not behavior. The man is a narcissist who cares about nothing except himself and winning. He had his armed forces assault citizens engaging in their constitutionally protected right of assembly, so that he could fraudulently pose with a bible as a pure public relations maneuver. There is no escaping the fact that his favored role models are strongman dictators in fascist and autocratic countries, such as Putin and the like. A traitor to almost everything the USA used to stand for in the world. A bad human being in so many ways, and his fellow Republicans don't seem to care in the least.

There's no toad, there's just reality and it's undeniable except to the guy's supporters on the near and far right of the American political spectrum.
