Simple rational thought and a lot of established facts are apparently beyond some to apply and comprehend.

Just like common sense, its a thing of the past.

And Dinosaurs aren't real either.

No they are real - Fred and Barney rode around on them in Oklahoma and over into Kansas when they went to visit Dorothy and Aunty Em.

"They have to keep it going till Nov.3."

I'm sure it would come as a surprise to my colleagues in critical care medicine that the patients they have been working to keep alive and the ones that they haven't been able to save were part of a nefarious Democratic plot to unseat that divine Mr. T, the genius and savior. The actual numbers suggest that COVID-19 is now the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. That will hopefully change over the coming months as additional drugs and perhaps a vaccine or three become available, but it's much worse than any influenza of the last 30 to 40 years. Obviously there have been occasional flu seasons with similar numbers of deaths, including 1918 and 1919, but nothing like the present load of full ICUs in many cities. There were no ICUs during the last major flu epidemic, so it's hard to compare the 1950s and 1960s, much less the 1918 epidemic.

What we do know is contrary to the ignorant, malicious idiocy of political extremists is that masks, quarantine and other public health measures, however painful economically and psychologically, do reduce suffering and save lives. Indeed, the flu season in the Southern Hemisphere is almost non-existent, with a 90% reduction in cases, likely due to COVID-19 precautions in place in these countries. It's hard to overstate the stupidity of those who won't wear masks in public and criticize those who do. Hopefully natural selection will work in favor of the more sensible and responsible citizens :).

I would be curious to know where the proceeds from the USPS' required prepayment of projected retiree health benefits goes. Into the vaporous Al Gore lockbox, along with Social Security? I believe the Congress voted to end this stupid requirement earlier this year, but it would be interesting to know where the $50+ billion or so went.

By the way, I read somewhere that in the last election President Trump used a mail-in ballot. Probably filled out by Jared Kushner or his daughter Ivanka, since it's clear he does not wish to read :).

Pretty sure that there's photographic or film of him filling it out --- there is of course no evidence to support any actual reading.

I remember many personalities that stated before the last election that if Trump is elected they would leave the country. Do any of you recall who, if anybody, actually said that and if any of them actually left the country?
It seems to me that there are several on this forum that are not happy with Trump but I have not seen statements about leaving the country if he is re-elected. I hope I don't see any. That is not meant to be a threat in any way. All my old gang buddies are dead. :)
