I have ben voting in general elections since I was old enough, 21 then, and I think I always had to have some form of official ID. We got a card when we registered to vote amd had to present it to vote. No card, no vote. I have voted in 2 precincts in Ohio, 1 in Kentucky and 3 in Georgia. The card was all that was needed until sometime recently where other forms of ID were needed, usually a drivers license. Other forms are available with certain proofs.
That is sometimes a problem for a few people because it is @ 25 miles to the nearest testing office. However for anyone that needs transportation
it is available from various organizations.

What is a better way?

Josef Goebbels and Saul Alinsky must have been twins. :D :D But, has little to do with voter ID's. All the excuses for not requiring some form of ID proof of whose voting is BS. What happened 30, 40, 50, 100 years ago could not happen in our world today with modern media, especially if it goes against Democratic wants and beliefs.
