More Trainz BS

Postby jlong » Mon Oct 19, 2020 9:58 pm

OK so I stumble on a Trainz auction for the sought after Milwaukee orange geep. I look at it and think. "Dang that looks like a repainted black cab". I scroll down and Trainz says it is been painted. They are so ignorant, they grade it TCA C6. No dumbass. You go by the TCA R categories for restored. Then he has the balls to put $1000 on this $150 piece of shit. If the TCA had any integrity, they would boot this Scott Griggs idot. What a bozo.

Ah, but it's worth what someone will pay for it...even if they get threaded!

Didn't they have orange molded shells instead of grey painted on the outside?

$150? For a fraud repaint? I don't think so.

The sought after orange cab had the early translucent orange body. What you are seeing is a later common black cab that was painted over. What an idiot.

john,
funny you saw that because I was looking at that engine the other day. I personally don't like the "rare" version but I did come across that one and lost interest after I saw the price.
The herald on the cab does not look original, but whoever painted it didn't cover up the 2338.

The rare orange cab is what I want. I expect to pay well over 1k for a nice one. This is a common version that was painted to look like the rare one. What a crock.

Grahams has nice one.

I don't collect post war anymore and didn't even know these were rare. As for Trainz, their prices have gone nuts. One of our club members is a retired dealer who has to move and wanted to sell off his personal collection. Trainz offered him 1/2 of wholesale. He rejected the offer.

There's a glut on the market that's only going to increase due to the increase in numbers of DMTs; selling your stuff yourself may be the only way to get better returns than that offer
