Some parts of the county you just push the leaves over the curb and they vacuum up the leaves.

With a massive diesel truck that emits plumes of diesel smoke into the air

Reminds me of the recycling craze where they had to develop specialized diesel guzzling trucks to pick up bins created for recyclables.

My floor finisher often stakes some claim in wanting to protect the environment all the while driving his dual rear wheel drive truck hundreds of miles to a job where he paints the wood flooring with toxic chemicals.
But damned be to hell that Alaskan pipeline.

I admire the well intended environmentalist people that just can’t embrace oil for whatever reason. The latest craze in EVERYTHING now are batteries. Every carpenter on the job site has an arsenal of battery tools maybe not in the name of the environment but convenience. Regardless what happens to all the dead batteries and whatever chemicals are in them in years to come? My fav are the yuppy crowd driving Tesla’s plugged into outlets that get power from gas or coal all in the name of green, sustainable or what ever bullshit term the democrats want to put on it.

I’ll do my little parts here and there as I see fit so long as they don’t majorly cramp my style but for now I’ll stick with the plentiful gas, oil and coal that the good Lord provided us with.

Lots of jobs to be created in renewable energy; run that in parallel with a Nat'l infrastructure effort and our economy will be fine. Jobs, manufacturing, and security all together.

Renewable energy still creates heat. Heat still creates problems. We need to use less. Even if it’s cleaner. We need to get rid of the mindset. That if it’s cleaner i can use more.

Then your answer is to use no energy at all since nothing gets created without heat generation/loss. Heat can be put to use however and is not always just a wasted by-product

The only renewables that I am aware of are wind turbines and solar panels that we will be buying from China along with all the steel for infrastructure. there are hydroelectric. they are in the process of tearing down 4 hydroelectric damns on the Klamath River so the salmon can swim upstream to spawn. Cheaper to tear the damns down than to build salmon ladders.

We actually do make solar panels in the US. If our short-sighted Gov't hadn't hamstrung that area, we'd be the world leader. But, it's a viable jobs area that could be opened wide. We actually have some good steel companies in the US. Nucor is one that I know of...

They are everywhere.....but I was referring to how solar has been crippled by regulation that ultimately puts the utility companies in charge - looked into this at my place in PA. Have to use the "approved" companies and "approved" per township & county and then you have to jump through 30 flaming hoops to get it installed and permitted and signed off by the local utility who may or not allow you to have any connection back into the grid at all.

In short, all the incentives to go solar were slashed in favor of whatever the utility companies want.
