Back in the day, we used RTV to make molds for casting 1/2400-scale ships, but we used epoxy as the medium. It worked pretty well.

BTW, I've done several other buildings beyond that one line side shed. That one and the next 3-5 will go off to the regional NMRA publication. The MoW cars get written up for other NMRA publications.

Shouldn’t be a problem. It feels more natural sitting on the hopper with a magazine than an iPad

We had a local wine dealer in my hometown in Ohio who received several varieties of wine in a six compartment tank car from California. Most of that was mixed with local wines. Some was bottled and sold locally. Some was used to refill the tank car and send on. He had his pwn label and bottles were also made locally. Unfortunately modern times and the building of a four lane highway caught up with the company and it closed in the early 1960s.
I remember the group of winos that would hang around with bottles to catch any drippings for their own use.

Yes, and these are all sorts of mixed metals and some mixes of plastic, too. Some stuff soldered, some Tenax or MEK, some CA and Goo.....

Nice looking tanks...I've never seen more than a four-dome tanker, so seeing six is new to me. Sounds like Roger may have seen the prototype.

While by no means a model, this two-dome prewar Flyer awaits a restore:



Found some Texaco decals that match, but without the car-number/capacity bit. May have to make my own.

Do you have a dedicated space to do that vs your wood stuff? One of the things that helped me the most was having a dedicated area for building models only. Prior to developing the space, building was a source of frustration.
