Celebration of Jon's birthday continues on the left coast. Spinach salad with carmel toasted walnuts, gorgonzola, pear slices, a light dressing of EVOO and basalmic. Lasagne with bolonese sauce. Chicken, ricotta, and brocolli calzone. Spimoni on pizelles. Ruby port. Candle light in honor of Jon.

San, you eat better than anyone I know. Or you write up food better than anyone I know. How's this?
Mary and Jay set the table, and soon everyone except Frankie was seated—Jimmy Hakken removed his hat, exposing his shaved head—and a procession of food began to arrive from the kitchen. First there was a chilled seafood salad with fresh squid, sea scallops, and shrimp, the pale creatures glistening in herbed olive oil, each glass bowl containing a tentacled squid head like a small violet crown. This was followed by his spaghetti and signature red sauce laden with lobster and mussels. Accompanying the goose, a roasted red snapper with olives, steamed broccoli rabe, and mashed potatoes latticed by fried sage leaves. A salad of radicchio, arugula, and frisee, a turbulent coil of reds and greens finished the main course.

I'll get it packed up and down to the B&S station, but I have to filch a box first, from somewhere. American Railway Express OK?
Folks, Tramp's writing a new book that's a stunner. Plot twists galore, psychological intrigue, a zinger at the end of every chapter that slaps you upside the head. It's got love, hate, sex, art, the Atlantic Ocean, corncob pipes, diners, prostitutes, road trips, fatheads and assholes, the stock market, motorcycles, Irish mothers, Zen, heroin, the Renaissance, Biscayne engine coils, cast-iron bathtubs, Christmas lights, comas, bars, cop chases, waitresses, and peas carrots or holiday medley (your choice).
Then he moves on to Chapter Two!
Oh yeah, it's also got beer. (Hey, this is Tramp writing this, after all!)
I've been graced with occasional installments as the work progresses.
If he decides to cut me off, I'll have no choice but to kill myself dead.
And it will be all his fault.
Off to the Races! I'm taking Airborne to a drag strip today, his first!

Kill me now. It's finally spring, the sun's all warm, flowers swaying in the breeze, and Tramp just rode off on his 900 Ducati. Without me. I told him I'm basically no different than a backpack. He says I need footpegs or some shit. And does he have to look so insanely cute as he drives off --- at 0-60 in 3.2 seconds? Me just standing there on the porch.

DaIZZY!! Just teasing your biker, you know. Whenever a special event or camping trip was in order the wife was always included. BUT- there's something hard to explain about the feeling a guy gets strapped to his machine solo. It's a good thing, trust me.
