Midler is referring to the comedy by Aristophanes "Lysistrata" in which women try to end the war between Sparta and Athens by refusing sex. Women had almost no political power then, and the Republicans would like to see the same thing happen 2400 years later. Ain't happening.

Indeed, abortion opposition is tied politically to fear of political power amongst people of color, and originated in support for segregated white private schools and their tax exemptions. It's all about keeping the immigrants, people of color and women in a subjugated position to the white male patriarchy and its belief structures.

I believe the women should be able to do what ever it is that they want to do.. especially the promiscuous ones that get knocked up and have an abortion. That lets the male off the hook for having any responsibly for what happened, you would think that they would have more common sense about preventing contraception and not having to go through the agony of a pregnancy and abortion.

Two New Zealand men were arrested on Sunday after attempting to cross the Auckland border with a car "full" of Kentucky Fried Chicken, french fries, and 10 tubs of coleslaw, local police said.

The police identified the pair as "gang associates" and found over 100,000 New Zealand dollars ($70,000) in cash and empty ounce bags alongside large amount of fast food, authorities said.

"The vehicle did a U-turn and sped off trying to evade police" after they noticed the car driving down a gravel road near the border, police said.

Auckland officials are enforcing strict travel restrictions amid a citywide lockdown after a surge in COVID-19 cases. With restaurants closed, residents who break travel rules to purchase fast food outside the city risk fines up to $8,400 or six months of jail time.
