Always wanted one of these just because! As it turns out, after I got it all done, etc., I found out that K&P actually sells a kit for this car! Never fails...but a kit is not the kind of fun that I derive from scratchbuilding. If I want to put together a phosphate train, I know where to get more cars along with the decals now.

On to the next projects on the bench!

Finally closed out this caboose project -- most of the resin was workable, but I did have to replace the entire main roof, and adjust how the end platforms were mounted. But overall I think it came out reasonably acceptable.

It came out fantastic! Considering what one builder gets for his cabooses/cabeese on Yardsale, I would think this would easily sell at one of your local shows (or EB) for good $$$$. Nice job!

I wish! Maybe dropping it on Yardsale to test that is something I'll have to try/test.

In the meantime, here's a Huff 'n' Puff flat car kit that Sarge tossed at me a while back with a load added....these can be dressed up to be pretty decent cars!

Yeah, that is an interesting car for sure. I remember seeing lots of the H&P kits at shows even decades ago, but that load is amazing. Subtle weathering just makes it come alive. The detail and clean castings make it look like it would spin and function. Nice!

The H&P kits don't get a lot of love, but they are great entry level kits and then also serve as parts in a box for kit bashing, etc.

That load is a 3D printed item that was supplied to me and sat in my shop for a year or more before I decided to marry it to this car - empty flat cars just don't cut it for me, Painted and washed with leftover diluted Polly Scale paints over a few days.
