Doesn't matter. Anyway, the word "American" includes Canada, Mexico and so on.

Wife and I went to Chilis to celebrate. I ordered Samuel Adams and salmon, the wife ordered a strawberry marqarita and hamburger. I guess she forgot we were going to celebrate with American beer. She also forgot to ask for extra simple syrup and ended up giving it to me and taking my Sam Adams... momentarily... then gave it back with, "That's bitter too. How can you drink that?" She remembered the extra simple syrup on her second margarita.

Happy birthday to your mom.
