Good going, ANG. Can't go wrong with an 870, (the best pump action shotgun on the market for 40 years or more), my opinion.

If I could sell my DUCKS UNLIMITED Model 1100 Atlantic Flyway, I'd be able to buy a new Z-4000 and a new engine. Bought new in 1980 at $500, 12 gauge, 3" Magnum, 32" Full choke, vent rib, engraved with DU mallard head, and Atlantic Flyway edition. Still brand spankin' new in the box, never fired. Know anybody into DU? Sure could go for that new transformer.

BTW, the barrel is not made for steel shot. It came out before the Feds got involved.

NICE!!!!!
It will work for ducks too, as well as many other critters. Call it a One Stop Shop, shoot, gut, and skin in one easy motion!

Mitch, as far as that DU gun, I would say give Grice's Gun Shop a call, (I think they are in Punxyatawny)

Another may be to get on some of the better gun forums. One that I reccomend is The High Road.

I pulled the choke tube out of my new gun this afternoon, and it's engraved with the notice "not for steel shot".
I took it out this evening, and ran a few lo-brass shells thru her, and they jammed! The brass sweeled at the base, sticking them in the bore! Tried some from the same lot in the Better Half's gun (another 870, 29 inch barrel) and they shot fine. Switched barrels, and it ate the same shells fine. Took the bore brush to the chamber again , used a little extra Break Free on the patches, and now it extracts fine. Chamber seems a little tight, hopfully, after a few more rounds she will free up nicely!
