Thank you. My friend bought the 7676 from Pro Custom Hobbies back before MTH was a gleam in Mikey's eye, probably around 1980 or so. All I know is that he was told that it is a CLW. When he brought it to the Tractioneers, it ran either faster or slower than my own H-10 (temporarily MIA) but I do not remember now. We put then on the track (about a 200 'run) and found the the faster one returned about 10' or so in front. We then hooked them together with the slower one in front and ran them double-shotted for many hours over a period of time (about 3 hrs on Wed and 4 hrs on Sat) that way. After maybe fifty hours we repeated the first test and the faster one returned less than 2' in front.
As for the MTH, if it did not cost so much, I might have had it converted to 2-rail; it is really a nice model. And quite heavy; it may have even out-weighed the 7676 by a few ounces. Not shown but the tender was equally as nice.
